TEREA vs HEETS: What's the Difference and Which Fits Your IQOS Device?

TEREA vs HEETS: What's the Difference and Which Fits Your IQOS Device?

TEREA and HEETS are two different sticks for two different IQOS device generations. TEREA sticks fit the IQOS ILUMA family, while HEETS fit older IQOS devices such as IQOS 3. They don't swap, so check your device first and then pick your pack.

Picture this: you're at a counter in Dubai, holding a pack your friend calls heets. The label says TEREA. You're not sure it fits your device, and you don't want to guess with your money.

Plenty of buyers in the UAE search for iqos heets and heets terea in the same breath. This guide clears up the difference, shows which stick fits which device, and points you to the right range at our HEETS and TEREA UAE collection.

Is TEREA the same as HEETS?

No. TEREA and HEETS are two different stick types made for two different IQOS device generations. TEREA sticks work with IQOS ILUMA devices. HEETS sticks work with earlier IQOS models such as IQOS 3. Many UAE buyers still say heets for any IQOS stick, which causes the mix-up.

Think of a key and a lock. The stick is the key, and the device is the lock. A HEETS key won't turn an ILUMA lock, and a TEREA key won't turn an older IQOS lock. See the full IQOS ILUMA lineup if you're matching a device to a pack.

The name also muddies search results. People type iqos terea dubai, heets uae and heets iqos uae when they mean the same shelf. Our products list guide covers the flavours under both names.

What actually changed between HEETS and TEREA?

The main change is how the device heats the stick. Older IQOS devices push a heating blade into a HEETS stick. IQOS ILUMA uses induction heating and has no blade, so it works with TEREA sticks only. The stick design changed to match the new heating method.

With no blade, there's nothing to snap inside the stick. You still need to look after the holder, and our TEREA removal guide shows the straight-pull method step by step.

Each TEREA stick gives you one session of up to 6 minutes or 14 puffs. Our stick duration guide explains how the limits work in daily use.

Do HEETS fit an IQOS ILUMA device?

No. HEETS sticks don't fit IQOS ILUMA devices. ILUMA is built for TEREA sticks and won't take a HEETS stick. If you own an ILUMA, ILUMA i ONE, ILUMA i STANDARD or ILUMA i PRIME, buy TEREA. Check the pack name before you order.

Not sure which model is in your hand? Read the name printed on the device, then match it to a TEREA range in our TEREA collection.

Do TEREA sticks fit older IQOS devices?

No. TEREA sticks don't fit IQOS 3 or other older IQOS devices. Those devices use a heating blade and take HEETS sticks. TEREA is made for the ILUMA induction system. If you're still on an older device, an ILUMA upgrade lets you switch to TEREA.

Picture this: a friend hands you a TEREA pack while you're holding an older IQOS. It won't fit, and that's normal. Your device and your stick have to come from the same generation.

We don't list older devices like IQOS 3 in our current range. Our IQOS ILUMA kits are the way into TEREA.

Which IQOS ILUMA device should you pair with TEREA?

Every ILUMA model takes the same TEREA sticks. The models differ in size, charging and price, not in stick type. Compare the ILUMA i ONE, i STANDARD and i PRIME, then choose the one that suits your day. Our comparison guide shows each one side by side.

Colour first, model second? That works too. Our ILUMA colours guide lists every shade, and the IQOS ILUMA i Galaxy Blue is a good place to start looking.

Which TEREA range should you buy in Dubai?

Choose by origin and flavour family. We stock TEREA ranges from Japan, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Switzerland and the Arabic selection. Start with the flavour family you like, then check the origin on the pack. Each range has its own listings and pack details.

Looking for amber? Try TEREA Swiss Amber or TEREA Amber Kazakhstan. Want menthol? TEREA Green Zing Kazakhstan is one many buyers search for.

How can you tell genuine TEREA from a fake?

Check the pack for the UAE digital tax stamp and buy from a seller that lists origin and pack details. A genuine pack shows the TEREA name, a sealed wrapper and the stamp. If a price looks far below the market, ask for proof before you pay.

Our fake TEREA guide shows the stamp and the packaging checks. If you'd rather order from a trusted source, see where to buy genuine IQOS and TEREA in Dubai.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a heets stick last?

A TEREA stick gives one session of up to 6 minutes or 14 puffs in an IQOS ILUMA device. The device ends the session when it reaches either limit. One stick equals one session, so a pack of 20 gives you 20 sessions.

The full breakdown is in our stick duration guide.
